NCXCTF's own Erin O'Neill recently signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Allegheny College in Meadsville, PA.
Erin has led the team almost her entire high school tenure, and carried us from some of our greatest challenges, like a straight-outta-nowhere state qualification in 2017 to a REGION CHAMPIONSHIP the very next year! She's a 6-year varsity letterman and the only NCHS athlete in history to be part of a team state championship qualification for every eligible varsity season (grade 7-12). Erin leaves a legacy of remarkable success that is matched only by her unwavering dedication to the team.  Way to go, Erin! We're so proud of you!

NCXCTF Athlete of the Month: Feb 2013

Picture
Paden closed out his high school Cross Country career at the AAA Region 3 Championships with a team-leading PR of 18:08, bettering his season best by 40 seconds and missing out on a at-large bid for the state championships by 3 seconds.
Paden holds the school record for total number of varsity races run over a career that started when he was in fourth grade, and has seen him suit varsity since sixth.
A longtime team captain, Paden's leadership will be sorely missed, but his legacy of hard work, discipline,  and dedication to the team will live on.  THANKS PADEN!

NCXCTF Athlete of the Month: July 2012

Picture
July 2012's Athlete of the Month is Aaron B.
Aaron closed out an impressive Region Championship by running the anchor leg of the boys' 4X400M Relay.  When the junior took the baton, we were out of scoring and about to miss our goal of beating the 2011 region medal count of 43.  52.9 seconds later, Aaron had gotten us back into scoring and secured that the 2012 team would go down in history with yet another record-setting season, capturing 47 medals.
Thanks for running your guts out, Aaron, and congratulations to the entire Track team!

NCXCTF Athlete of the Month: July-Aug 2013

Picture
July 2013's Athlete of the month is recent graduate Allysa Johnston!
Allysa closed out a spectacular high school throwing career at the state championships by smashing her own school record by more than a foot!  Her toss of 36'-05" took her to the medal stand with a school-record best place finish of fifth in state.
She'll be sorely missed.  Best of luck Allysa!

October 2013's NCXCTF Athlete of the Month is junior Will Ballard!
Will is absolutely tearing up his junior Cross Country season, consistently leading the team meet after meet and setting impressive new PRs every race!
Over the last 2 meets, will has become the first NCXC runner in three seasons to run sub-18:00 minutes in the 5K.  After his first sub-18 ever at the Jack Mitchell Invitational earned him a top 5 medal, his 17:47 at the Hillbilly Run placed him 13th in a large competitive field.
Considering Will's strong work ethic in practice, with year-round comittment, look for Will to break the 17:00 mark before he graduates!

2012 NC boys' and girls' Cross Country teams both Runners-Up in competitive 11-team MKAC Conference*

*The 2012 Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference member schools are Bardstown, Bethlehem, Bullitt Central, Bullitt East, Larue County, Marion County, Nelson County, North Bullitt, Thomas Nelson, Spencer County, and Washington County.

NCXCTF Athlete of the Month: October 2012

Picture
Senior Daniella G has been a standout for the girl's Cross Country program since she joined as an eighth grader.
Along the way, she's nabbed numerous MVP trophies for both Cross Country and Track, and holds the school record in both the 5000M XC and on the 3200M Relay.
For the current season, Daniella is still consistently posting times among the team's best, and the importance of her leadership as team captain is impossible to overstate.  Let's hope she can lead her team back to state in this, her final XC season.  Way to go Dani!

NCXCTF Athlete of the Month: September 2012

Picture
September's Athlete of the Month is Kayla M.
After a stellar junior Track season that saw her competing is just about every event she could talk her coach into putting her into, Kayla kicked off her second season on the Cross Country team in spectacular fashion--by leading the girls team in their first competition!
Furthermore, Kayla was the overall female winner of the NCHS inaugural Ndurance Labor Day 5K, finishing the event with an impressive time of 21:02!  Great job, Kayla!  Keep up the good work!
Be sure and check out all the details under the "Labor Day 5K" tab at the top of this page.

NCXCTF Athlete of the Month: August 2012

Picture
August 2012's Athlete of the Month is Morgan B.
NCHS Senior Morgan B. has always made a name for himself through his dedication and 110% effort.
Morgan's successful spring track season established him as a force to be reckoned with in the distance events, and his tireless efforts in summer training indicate he'll be carrying that success over to the fall Cross Country season as well.  His strength, endurance, and ability to run through pain make him one tough competitor.
Morgan is poised to capture the #1 spot on the varsity team, a challenge that will benefit both him and the other team leaders.  Good luck, Morgan!
